I use to be patronizing here for years and it’s my first since the pandemic as I was around the area. Everything taste the same the saltiness and the greasy pork lard. The meat in the beehoon is lesser now and a plate like this cost $5.40. Still the sinful taste complete my week.

Delicious soy chicken rice and pig trotter fried mee hoon at arcade. Best to come early, expect long queue during peak hours. Enjoyed the flavorful fried mee hoon w dried tofu and fish fillet and soy chicken rice w hard boiled egg. The chicken slices were tender.

Bakchormee sgd6.5 wasn't fantastic but not too bad, noodles could be softer, but good polite service. Can order drinks from the same counter at the same time, don't have to requeue elsewhere. Teh is good, I like mine gah dai (extra condensed milk), it's fragrant and still not too sweet, super cheap at sgd1.5, cannot find anywhere else in CBD. Seats are cramped, lots of people eating laksa. Will be back to try the beehoon in the morning.

had the fishball noodles ($6.50) for a quick meal i thought it surpassed expectations since the shop is known for the beehoon rather than fishball noodles. mee pok was al dente and didn't taste alkaline. i liked their sauce too - good balance of flavours. could taste the fragrance from the crispy pork lard and shallots too fishballs allegedly handmade. very big and bouncy

Typical Singaporean breakfast type of place. Abit heavy for the young people but from my generation, this type of comfort food is always welcomed

I tried the bee hoon on a Saturday, and the place was pretty empty. You order the bee hoon right in front of the stall, and you can get drinks from the aunty next to it. The price was a bit of a shock, though – for this plate of bee hoon and a cup of teh o peng, it came to almost $8! I had to see if it was worth it. The bee hoon itself was nicely moist and even had vegetables mixed in. The only thing missing, in my opinion, was some sweet sauce (like the kind they put on chee cheong fun) – I think that would have been amazing with it. I definitely recommend trying the bee hoon here, but maybe skip the drink

The beehoon is really as good as they say. Oily and well flavoured. Side dishes were normal. Overall on the pricey side. I paid $7.10 for beehoon plus fish fillet and egg, and a kopi C kosong.

Formerly known as 108 Eating House, this humble little establishment located within the Arcade, is home to the famous Bee Hoon noodles - and if it wasn't obvious enough already, there is a line every morning queueing up to partake of it, to ensure that everyone knows this IS the place... I get my cup of joe from the shop next door and as I wait for my brew I've been mesmerised by the auntie ladling up these fine noodles every morning with such practiced skill that she can make the largest of queues disappear in a matter of minutes. As I'd never tried this dish before I brought along a local buddy from work who went through the ordering procedure and made sure we had a good dollop of chili sauce to add the much needed kick to the dish. Upon returning to work we devoured this delicious breakfast, with jealous glances and gasps from co-workers - I must say it lived up to the moniker "good old taste", and now I understand why there is a morning line. Next time I get it methinks I'll make sure to get a bigger serving of the chili sauce and perhaps a lil more of the luncheon meat. It's always a pretty safe bet that when places only do one dish and people queue up every morning to get it, that it is going to be a winner; and in that regard Good Old Taste certainly doesn't disappoint.
